COVID-19 Update

It’s been more than one year since the first confirmed COVID-19 case among a Westbrook resident, and since the beginning, the Town of Westbrook has recorded over 400 total confirmed cases. The Connecticut Department of Public Health (CT DPH) has updated the Town of Westbrook’s Average Daily Rate of COVID-19 Cases per 100,000 population to 18.6, which is continuing our gradual decrease in case rates.

As we continue to see progress in our battle against COVID-19 in Westbrook, through mitigation measures and vaccinations, it’s imperative that we remain committed to protecting ourselves and our community by:

--Wearing a mask in public settings

--Maintaining a physical distance from individuals outside of our households

--Practicing good hand hygiene

--Getting vaccinated when you’re eligible

--Refraining from non-essential travel outside of Connecticut and adhering to the State of Connecticut Travel Advisory: https://portal.ct.gov/coronavirus/travel

--Staying home if feeling ill, testing positive, or waiting for COVID-19 test results

Visit the 2-1-1 of Connecticut website to locate COVID-19 testing sites: https://www.211ct.org

Visit this CDC website to learn more on what to do if you are sick: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/steps-when-sick.html

According to the State of Connecticut Immunization Registry, 39.6% of Westbrook’s population has received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccination, which is among some of the best rates in the State.

For information on vaccination rates in the State of Connecticut, visit: https://data.ct.gov/stories/s/CoVP-COVID-Vaccine-Distribution-Data/bhcd-4mnv/

Governor Lamont has announced that beginning April 1st, Connecticut residents 16 years of age and older will be eligible to schedule and receive their COVID-19 vaccination.

Westbrook residents are encouraged to monitor the State of Connecticut COVID-19 Vaccine Portal for the most current information on the COVID-19 vaccine, which includes options on how to schedule your vaccination: https://portal.ct.gov/vaccine-portal
