BOARD AND COMMISSIONS
RECORDING SECRETARIES

The Town of Westbrook is seeking qualified candidates to take meeting minutes for the following Boards and Commissions:

  • Board of Finance
  • Conservation
  • Zoning Board of Appeals
  • Town Garage
  • Fire Commissioners
  • Water Pollution Control Commission

Applicants are responsible for clerical and secretarial work to take and transcribe the minutes at various Town board and commission meetings. Attends meeting, compiles and transcribes minutes. Must have working knowledge of business English, spelling, computer skills and have the ability to type with speed and accuracy. You may also be required to create agendas, filing legal notices and have the ability to work effectively in night meetings, involving the general public.

The Town of Westbrook is seeking qualified candidate(s) to take meeting minutes for the Planning Commission and the Economic Development Commission. The Commissions meet once a month in the evening on the 2nd Monday and the 4th Tuesday respectively.

Qualifications:

HSG or GED and two yrs of secretarial or other experience that shows a command of business English, spelling and punctuation; proficiency with word processing; ability to type with speed and accuracy; and ability to accurately summarize from notes or tape recording. Familiarity and understanding of land use development terms and procedures is desirable. Must have own computer with internet access and transportation to attend meetings.
